Yury Kendysh: "There is no limit to perfection"
Belarusian newcomer FC "Sheriff" Yuri Kendysh told about the first steps in football, why he chose FC "Sheriff" and his debut in the Europa League.
- Yury, welcome to FC "Sheriff". Tell me please, how did you start playing football before you were in BATE?
- Thank you, I am very glad to be here. I began to learn playing football from childhood because of my father. He worked in the fire department, then received a coaching license and became my first coach. I started my career in Minsk FC MTZ-RIPO, continued in many clubs of the Belarusian major league and before I got to BATE I played in the Lithuanian teams Trakai and Zalgiris.
- Are there any special features of Belarusian football and what did you hear about the Moldavian championship?
- Most teams in the top league of Belarus play indoor and defensive football. Speaking for "BATE" was very difficult to break the defense of rivals. Well, we cannot fail to note the strength character of our football, where an important role is played by the number of matches won. In my youth I participated in one of the football tournaments, which took place at the Sports Complex "Sheriff". Even then I was very impressed with the infrastructure. I know that "Sheriff" always aspires to be in the champions of the country and an excellent specialist Leonid Kuchuk worked there.
- How do you plan to win the competition for a place in the starting lineup?
- Only hard work in training will allow the head coach to decide how the players are ready for a certain game. I will try to do everything to help the team.
- FC "Sheriff" made his way to the group stage of the Europa League. You already have experience of performing in the group stage. Tell us about your first match in the European arena?
- This match is unforgettable. In 2009 we met with Metallurg Donetsk. I played for FC MTZ-RIPO. That match we lost with the score 1: 2. By the way, it was my first game in a professional career, and immediately in the Europa League.
- FC "Sheriff" has a large number of awards and trophies in Moldova. What would you like to achieve in a new team for you?
- There is no limit to perfection. My goal is to improve and FC "Sheriff" is the team where I can do it. We must strive to help the team win the championship and play well in European competition.
