Before the ending of the Championship the Club doctor Vladimir Vremes gave the interview to our official website:
Mr. Vremes, please tell us how and where is the medical examination of FC “Sheriff” players conducted?
As a rule, we conduct the medical examinations in Chisinau at “AthletMed”. According to the Regulations, we must conduct the examinations of our players at dedicated clinics for sportsmen. Players are eligible to participate in domestic and European competitions by results of such medical examinations. However, we have the agreement with “AthletMed” and the Football Association of Moldova. Taking into account the fact that “AthletMed” doesn’t have some specific tools and laboratories, we conduct some medical tests at the German Diagnostic Center. After getting the results from there, we submit all medical data to “AthletMed”. On the basis of this information the players get admission to the competitions. As well we begin cooperate with medical center “Medin” that was open on the territory of our Sport Complex not so long ago.
What is the level of medical and physical health of international and local players like? Are there essential differences?
We carefully examine all players, both local and international ones from different countries. I wouldn’t say that there are some essential differences as regards medical and physical health of international and local players.
Does the medical examination of foreign players differ from examination of local players? If yes, how?
First of all, it should be noted there are certain norms of conducting medical examinations for each player regardless his nationality. However, we conduct additional tests due to the fact that climatic and other conditions may affect foreign players especially those who arrive from Africa and Brazil.
Supporters are usually interested in a doping problem. How is medical examination of FC “Sheriff” players conducted as regards taking prohibited substances? What is the examination like?
This problem is really actual in any country and club. Now our players selectively pass doping control during European competitions when 2-3 players do blood and urine tests. Our players permanently do such tests and the results are always negative. It means that players do not take prohibited substances.
As you have told, football requires significant physical efforts. That’s why there are rehabilitation procedures in a schedule of each team because physical load during matches and trainings is very high. What methods of rehabilitation do you use and what conditions exist for that?
As regards preparation and rehabilitation of players, all conditions are created. We can conduct all activities aimed at increasing professional level of our players. There are excellent living conditions at our disposal, very good nutrition, as well we have all necessary medicinal substances. We widely use all rehabilitations methods – swimming pool, sauna, in other words – we do all our best to help players.
