Vladimir Covacevic: I'm very happy to sign a contract with FC Sheriff
FC Sheriff new defender, Vladimir Kovacevic, made his debut in the game of the Moldovan Cup round of 16against Iskra. After a crushing win 7-0 over the Rybnitsa team, Vladimir shared his thoughts about the new club.
Vladimir, your feelings on your debut for the Yellow-Blacks?
First of all, I’m very happy that I signed a contract with Sheriff. It’s the biggest club in Moldova, and also a club with big tasks that is present in European competitions and the Championship of Moldova.
Tell us about the game: what difficulties did you face?
I made debut for Sheriff, I played the entire second half. Great feeling, we won, no had no difficulties there. Maybe, the opponent was not the top team, but for us it’s important to win every game, grow up as a team and be ready for the Champions League qualification round.
Did you expect such a big score?
I didn’t expect such a big score, but for me, the most important thing is to keep zero behind, a clean sheet and in the attack, we have a lot of dangerous players and they can make difference against every opponent.
What task the coach set for you before you came in as a substitute?
Coach said to me that I’m playing the second half on my position as a central defender. He told me to be focused and patient when I have the ball and aggressive in face-to-face battles.
You spent one half on the pitch, are you satisfied with your performance?
I don’t like to speak about my performance, the coach is there to speak and evaluate my performance. He takes all decisions, and I must respect this as a professional.
How is your adaptation going? Have you made any friends?
People in the club, players, staff, everybody are really nice. Especially Mateo Susic, Ante Kulusic and Zvonimir Mikulic, really good guys who help me a lot. Well, all of them do everything to make me feel I’m more than welcome here and that’s important for me.
What goals do you set for yourself playing for FC Sheriff?
Playing well in the Champions League, of course, and in the Championship.
