Stjepan Radeljic: "I am very grateful to everyone for the warm welcome"
Stjepan Radeljic in his first interview as a player of FC Sheriff talks about who he consulted before moving to Tiraspol, why he played for the national teams of the two countries and what he is preparing for in the upcoming season.
- Stjepan, we congratulate you on your new contract. Have you already learned something about Sheriff?
- Thank you, I am very grateful to everyone for the warm welcome in the club that was organized for me. I have been informed about the importance of Sheriff in Moldovan football. My friends played here, in particular Benedik Mioc, who told me a lot of good things about the club. Sheriff is the best team in the country, for me this is a serious step in my career. I am eager to prove myself and help the team in official games.
- Our team is a regular participant in European competitions, what do you have to prepare for?
- Yes, I know very well that the club is a regular participant in European competitions, as it always fights for first place in the championship. I have no experience in such tournaments yet, so I need to prepare for everything. The task this year is to take first place in the Championship of Moldova and play at a high level in the Champions League, we will try to fulfill it.
- You are a Croat, but you play for the national team of Bosnia. How did it happen?
- I am Croat by nationality, but now I am more Bosnian. Since childhood, I have lived in Bosnia, and everyone there already considers me to be their own, Bosnian. For me, there is no difference between these countries. The language is almost the same, culture and way of life. I used to play for Croatia, but now I play for the national team of Bosnia. This is the final decision, now I cannot play for Croatia.
- How did you choose the game number and why exactly this?
- It's simple - the numbers that I like are already taken. In general, the numbers on my T-shirt are not important for me.
- You have already played in test matches, what are your impressions of the team?
- In the first match, I played only 15 minutes, received a slight injury. It's okay - the defenders also hit the legs. I played more in other games. The rivals pressed well. It immediately caught my eye. Test sparring is more about building connections within the team and checking the readiness of each player.
