Steve Ambri: "The team organized itself and was able to realize its advantage"
French forward Steve Ambri gave his first interview as a player of FC Sheriff:
- Steve, why did you decide to continue your career at FC Sheriff?
- Each football club has its own history. Sheriff was formed not so long ago, but already has a rich European Cup history. What is not, of course, in the clubs of the second division of France. Eminent clubs come to Tiraspol and there is a wide field for career growth for every football player. I didn't even doubt it when I received an offer from FC Sheriff. What can I say - a famous club with excellent infrastructure.
- How did you get into football?
- I started playing football at the age of 6, at the football school in my neighborhood. The coach saw my data and diligence, so other football schools went on, in particular, a strong football school in the city of Le Havre. I began to play in the French youth clubs, after which ended up in the teams of the second league of France.
- How is your adaptation here and tell us about the first trainings?
- Everything is going well, you need to take into account the fact that I left France for the first time. Specific attitude, because everything is new for me here. I will try to learn English as soon as possible to make it easier to adapt to the team. In training, I will not hide, it's hard. I work additionally in the gym, I want to get the necessary physical conditions.
- In your track record there are games for the national teams of Guinea-Bissau and in the youth national team of France U-20 ...
- At first there was an offer from the youth team of France, I could not refuse, because the level there is very serious. Not every player in his career is presented with such an opportunity. Later, since I am also a citizen of Guinea-Bissau, I received an offer to play for the national team. I did not immediately agree, because there were some health problems. Today there are already several games behind, including in the qualification of the World Cup and the African Cup of Nations. Very proud to defend the colors of the national team.
- You were at the return game against HFC Zrinjski and supported our boys, how do you like the game?
- The match was difficult, it is clear that our game connections and decision-making speed are not enough yet. But, despite this, the team organized itself and was able to realize its minimal advantage. Good thing they left our gates intact. We need to work and improve our game.
- Do you have a goal as a player of FC Sheriff?
- I will strive to be the first in Moldova, to be the Champion. I want to show myself even more in European competitions, I think about it a lot. And if it's more mundane - to score as many goals as possible and distribute as many assists as possible.
