Rifet Kapic: I think I've made the right choice!
Bosnian midfielder Rifet Kapic who signed in with FC Sheriff replies the questions of the press office journalist about his football career and his goals for the future.
First, tell us please about your club career…
I start in my hometown of Cazin. After that when I was 16 Years old I went to FK Sarajevo Academy, in the capital city of my country (Bosnia and Herzegovina), after 2 years I went to ND Gorica (Slovenia) where I played 2 great years and had good statistics. Then, after Gorica, I joined Grasshopper Club Zurich (Switzerland), signed the contract, and now I’m here in Tiraspol. I think I made a good choice!
How can you describe yourself as a player?
I’m a player who likes to play tiki-taka style, that is a combination football of short pass and constant movement with a ball possession.
What are your strengths?
My strengths are a vision of the pitch, good pass and dribbling and the ability to shoot.
To your opinion–what a modern midfielder shall be like?
In my opinion, a top midfielder needs to be like Luka Modrić. For me, he is the best midfielder in the world, he is 100% concentrated 90 minutes in the game, and that’s why I like him and I try to learn from him.
When did you feel football would be your profession?
I felt it before I went to Slovenia. People always told me that, so I felt it too and I believed in myself that’s the most important thing.
What are your main goals in modern football? What do you want to achieve?
Most important thing is when a player finishes his career that every fan will remember him as a good player and good person. The first wish is absolute to win the Champions League, and then the World Cup.
What does it mean for you to play for FC Sheriff?
It means a lot, this club every year plays in qualifications for the Champions and Europa League so it’s not a small thing. FС Sheriff is the top club for young players, and I will give everything to help the team.
