Petru Racu: I set only highest goals
FC Sheriff new player Petru Racu talked about his decision to play in Sheriff, about Scandinavian football, about our opponent in the Champions League and his position on the pitch.
- Petru, we congratulate you on joining FC Sheriff. Share your emotions.
- Thank you very much. I am glad I am in Sheriff now in my best age as a defender, I will try to help the club fulfill all tasks for the season.
- Tell us why you chose Sheriff?
- It is not a secret that in our country and beyond it FC Sheriff is the so-called brand of Moldovan football and its titles have defined my choice.
- Have you known anyone in the team before?
- Yes, I have known local players in games for the national team. I know foreign players because of our games when I was in FC Milsami.
- You played in Sweden, learned the language and obtained citizenship. How do you estimate Scandinavian football in comparison with Moldovan championship?
- There is no essential difference. Scandinavian football is first of all domination with physical qualities, of course, tactical level is improving there. In Moldovan football it is vice versa, the teams try to raise technical level.
- Which position is the best for you?
- Everything depends on the scheme of play. Lately FC Milsami have played with three defenders and for me it is more comfortable to play on central position. I can also play on the sides in defense. I also have experience in playing in home zone, so everything depends on the coach's build-up.
- Our team's head coach Roberto Bordin is an Italian. Have you talked about tactical scheme in defense?
- We discussed a few things about the game but I think everything is ahead. We need to point out that I am lucky to be in the team under his guidance because working with Italians is always a progress for defenders.
- In the second round of the Champions League FC Sheriff plays with the leader of the Albanian super league - FK Kukesi. What can you say about the opponent and what are your chances to enter the next round of the tournament?
- Yes, I also followed the draw and I know who play with. I know many Albanian players when I played in Scandinavia. They are aggressive and underestimation of the opponent will be a big mistake.
- What tasks do you set in the new club?
- I have highest goals and I believe that I will achieve good results with this team.
