Michael Lopez: "Sheriff because it's a club with history"
Argentinean Michael Lopez spoke about his life and goals together with FC Sheriff:
- Michael, tell us your story - where did your love for football come from and how did your path begin?
- My start in football was thanks to my father, who made me so passionate since childhood. I have been playing football since I was 4 years old. I started at the district club, and then when I was 11 years old, my parents took me to the Banfield Sports Club, where I went through all the training, all stages, in all divisions. This gave me the opportunity to play for the Banfield first team in the top division of Argentinean football.
- What would you say now, being already in adulthood, having fully taken place as a professional football player, to your own child, a teenager who was just starting to take his first steps in football?
- I would say that I am very proud of myself, because it was not easy, but I always had a goal - to do what I like. Year after year I try to be better. I am proud that it turns out, because it was all worth the effort that my family and I put in. This is the right way.
- What do you dream about as a football player and as a man?
- As a football player, I dream of achieving important things. It's about titles, achieving the goals that I set for myself and, of course, representing my country. As a man, I want to be a great father. I have a firstborn. It's a wonderful experience and the truth is that I like it more than anything.
- Why did you choose Sheriff?
- I chose Sheriff because it is a club with a history and I would really like to become a part of this history and achieve important things for the club.
- Argentina won the World Cup this year. You had a big holiday in your homeland, are you ready to give joy to the fans of FC Sheriff with your game and goals?
- Actually it was an incredible feeling to see my country as a world champion and enjoy it with my family and friends, it was unique. Being here in Tiraspol, I am, without a doubt, ready and eager to show the player that I am and scream about every goal in this shirt.
