Melli: “We have a professional approach to every game”
The Spanish back of FC “Sheriff” Melli gave an interview for the official site of the team:
In the last game of the championship you scored your second goal for “Sheriff”. Did you often score in the clubs you played before?
I do not have a chance to score often because I am in the position of the back. I scored two goals for “Tenerife” and I could score six timesin “Gent”.
How did you react to the news that you are suspended for the next three Europa League matches?
It was hard for me to realize it. I have never thought it could happen, especially in such important games. I was shocked and it was offending for the team. One should get a yellow card for such an unintentional offence.
The team has to play without you in Europa League. What do you feel when you understand you cannot help your team on the field?
I try to help the team in my thoughts. I am training at the maximum preparing for the matches. Our team had two great games against “Tottenham” and of course every player dreams to take part in such games.
How did the team perform in the last two games against “Tottenham” in your opinion?
I think the team played very well. The rival was very strong but our players were not afraid of them and they proved it on the field. They played almost like equals. “Sheriff” looked deserving.
You play in every game in the championship. Have you got a feel on the Moldavian football already?
I think, yes, I have. Of course, Moldavian football is very different from the football I know, for example Spanish or European. But the teams in Moldova are making progress and it is getting very interesting to play.
What game was the most difficult for you in the championship of Moldova?
The most difficult match was an away match with “Zimbru”.
You are having difficult games with “Costuleni” and “Dacia” in the championship…
Yes, but we think about the matches when the times comes. We have a professional approach to every game. Of course, it is very important for us to get three points in each of these games and we will do everything for that.
