Igor Picusceac: It is always pleasant to see the native team
Training camp is not only laborious work every day, but also places for a meeting with old friends. As fate would have it that in the same hotel with FC Sheriff, one of the teams of FC Krasnodar, which trainer is the trainee of our club, Igor Picusceac, lives. The meeting turned out warm. And for us it was an occasion to find out from Igor how he is going in Krasnodar:
-Igor, we’re glad to see you. How are you going in Krasnodar?
-Everything is going well. Till this winter worked with a team which plays in the FNL tournament. But, circumstances developed so that the management decided to switch the coaches around. Now I work with forwards in Academy of the club. The management is satisfied. I will tell at once that the FC Krasnodar Academy is of high level, it has a lot of ideal fields.
- Would you compare it with FC Sheriff Academy?
- It is possible to compare of course. But the biggest difference – the size. The academy itself, age from 12 to 18 years is very similar. As for basic school, younger age, FC Krasnodar has many branches where about 16 thousand children study.
- When went to training camp, could foresee that you will live in the same hotel with FC Sheriff?
- Frankly speaking, did not know. But, I was very glad to see all.
-What feelings did you have when you saw the boys?
- It was surprising and very pleasant, to meet friends and to see the native team.
-How often Igor Picusceac far away from home recalls FC Sheriff?
-I always watch the team, regularly watch news, I watch reviews of matches, it is available now.
-Did you have thoughts that as a coach, you’ll have a chance to play against the club which trained you as a football player? How do you see it?
-Only in a positive light, though, before this question, such thoughts did not occur to me (smiles). A chance exists, probably, to play so far at the training camp. I think, it would be interesting. For me it would be some kind of motivation.
- Both clubs were started from scratch, built stadiums, academies. According to ambitions do the teams have something similar?
- There is no sense to do some parallels. I know life realities only at my current work. I can judge only by the fact that I know. When I grew in FC Sheriff it was other time and also technological capabilities. Now there are more innovations in this regard. In Krasnodar everything tries to be computerize. Krasnodar progresses strongly in this regard. There are opportunities and a large number of children.
- There are supporters in Tiraspol, who appreciate you, remember and are interested in your present life. Do you have any words for them?
- I want to wish them that they always supported FC Sheriff. Thank them for that remember me. I will not hide when I come back home, meet with many of them, and I am very glad that they do not forget and remember those times when I played for the club.
