Gurban Gurbanov: "Sheriff" knows everything that modern football requires "
Head coach of FC "Qarabaq" gladly communicated before the official training of his team with journalists:
- Greetings to all. One thing I can say is that there will be a very difficult game. We already met in Baku, we saw an opponent who has a huge desire to win. Therefore, we prepared very seriously. Both teams have a chance to go to the playoffs, and at least get into the group of the Europa League. I think that we and Sheriff will take the match seriously. It will be a very interesting game.
- In your opinion, will the game be as closed, or will there be more attacking football?
- Hard to say. I wish there was an open game. I do not know how much the opponent will give us the opportunity to show it on the field. We will try to attack more and want to achieve a good result. And as it will be, I do not know.
- Will there be changes in the composition of your team, in comparison with the first match?
- There will not be many changes. I think, if they do, they are insignificant.
- Considering that "Qarabag" has not participated in the playoffs yet, is there pressure on the team, and will it prevent the result?
- Each team feels pressure in every game. Even in the Championship. And, especially, in such games. In tournaments of this kind, it is more felt. We have experienced players, and will try to play freely. If the team feels pressure, then, is preparing for this game. The first match ended 0-0. And this pressure, I'm sure, the players feel. Moreover, we play on guest field.
- What are you more afraid of in the game "Sheriff"?
- We are afraid of many things. In each game, our opponent can change the system of the game, in each game can change the composition. Therefore, we will be cautious. Tomorrow they can present us with a surprise, both for the game and for the composition. The Sheriff has a thinking coach who has put a very good defensive game. The team is well pressed and very quickly goes from defense to attack. They know everything that modern football requires, put pressure on, attack and defend. It will be hard, but we will try not to let the opponent play their game. In other words, both for us and for the rival, there will be an interesting game.
- Is "Qarabag" ready for the fact that the match will end again 0-0 and there will be a penalty shootout?
- To be honest, we did not think about the penalty. We prepared for the game, we want to do everything right, and win. Do not let your opponent show their game. Of course, in football, anything can be. But, I do not want to prepare players in advance for a penalty shootout. Every coach, every team thinks to win in regular time. And if we get to the penalty shootout, we'll decide everything locally, on the field. From the first minutes you should not prepare players for the penalty shootout.
