Gheorghe Anton: Only positive emotions before the game
FC Sheriff midfielder Gheorghe Anton shares his impressions on the central game of the National Division Sheriff 3-1 Zimbru.
Gheorghe, how did you feel before the derby with Zimbru and your comments on the game?
Before the game, I had only positive feelings. It's my first game after the injury. I'm so glad to be back with the first team again. I wish to score again and commit to the positive result. We seriously prepared to the game as we knew the opponent would play in a pushy and aggressive way. Now Zimbru has a lot of young promising players who strive to show their best in important games like this. After the draw in the game against Sfintul Gheorghe, we wanted to bounce back in the eye of our fans. I think we managed to do that.
You didn't play this season. How did you motivate yourself to keep on working and wait for a new chance?
I try to get fit to reach the needed condition and then try to keep it at a good level. After the injuries, all my mind was fixed on recovering and how to join the first team soon again. Then with every game, I need to score more.
You have games played with the youth team. What can you say about the Reserve Championship?
Well, the new tournament is an interesting innovation. In the Reserve Championship players of the first teams participate as well. This makes the tournament tough and challenging.
Now the team is guided by Victor Michailov. How is the team getting prepared under his supervision?
He is an ambitious coach. He always wants to win. He prepares us for the games so seriously. He pays attention to each player when they come to the venue to make them concentrate on the coming game and avoid any other thoughts. We shall concentrate not only on the game of the Championship but on the entire weekly training cycle.
Due to the fixtures schedule the next game is against Zaria Balti. Vlad Goyan's squad at the moment takes the bottom position in the standings. Are you afraid to underestimate the opponent?
We have no need to check the standings. Such things usually lead to underestimation. We had such games before in the previous season when the team lost points. We had to regain them with huge difficulties and nervousness. We'd better not repeat those moments this season.
