Our team's newcomer, Nigerian defender Faith Obilor, gave the first interview to the club press office. Faith spoke about himself, about his idols in football world, and about his thoughts in the game on the football pitch.

 

- Faith, the signing of the contract with FC Sheriff has taken place. Are you glad to be a part of the new team?

- I am very glad to become part of the large family of FC Sheriff. A good event in my personal career.

 

- You moved to us from Finland, where you played for the capital FC HJK ...

- Yes, I spent a good period in Finland. HJK is a strong club with which I won the Champion title twice. Helsinki is a beautiful city with kind people. I got good support there. When I left the club, they told me that they would miss me. It's nice when people trust you and wish you every success. It seemed to me that in Moldova it is a little colder than in Finland, and this surprised me. Today I’m not alone in Sheriff - Sebastian Dahlström and William Parra Sinisterra also moved from Finland to the club. On the one hand, I have no problems with adaptation in the new team, on the other, it is always good to see familiar teammates. The adaptation process should go faster.

 

- Tell us about your idols in football world, in particular, in the defense line.

- I like the game of Sergio Ramos and Virgil van Dijk. I believe that the defender must certainly have leadership qualities, be able to lead the whole team. It is important to establish professional and good relationships in a team. Communication, kindness and positive should always accompany the whole team. The defense is built not on one player, but on the whole team, so it is important to rally everyone in all positions on the football field and outside it. I am convinced that it is necessary to sacrifice your personal interests for the benefit of the overall success of the whole team.

 

- Are you a rude defender or  you act carefully against your opponents?

- It all depends on the match. There are different situations. Sometimes I can’t afford to play softly, sometimes, on the contrary, I don’t need to earn fouls. Most important, the ball should not be in the net of our goal.

 

- Do you go forward during standard positions in the game?

- Yes, I like to move into someone else's penalty area under standard provisions. In Finland, I have repeatedly scored goals against opponents. I would like to make a mark in this way also in the Championship of Moldova.

 

- A wonderful atmosphere in the team, top football players and a top coach. Which of the three options is the most important?

- I am for a wonderful microclimate inside the team. I would add the necessary discipline also.

 

- What are you thinking about at the very beginning of the match?

- There is only one thought - not to lose, and even better to achieve a victory.

 

- Your football dream?

- My dream is to play in one of the best football leagues in Europe. Find myself and play in one of the strongest clubs in Europe.
