Alhaji Kamara: Season has just begun and more games are waiting ahead
Alhaji Kamara who opened the score in the official games for FC Sheriff talks on his impressions, the Championship, and the rivals.
Alhaji, we congratulate you on the debut! Share your feelings with us, please.
Thanks a lot! It is quite a good feeling to step into the new club, new season and debut with a goal. The feelings and passion are always there for me like it was before, and it was quite a good feeling and atmosphere, as it is beautiful out there. The club made everything easier for me to feel good and adapt. Thanks to everyone from the club for their help.
Did you feel nervous before the game?
Yes, it is normal like always in a new club or country, I feel a little bit of pressure before the game. When you play your first game for a new Championship, there is always a little bit of some pressure but this all go soon after the game is on.
You managed to excel right in the first round. Tell us about the goal you scored and how did it happen?
It always feels good when you play your first game for a new team and you score. I felt really good about the goal even I was not having the best game myself. I can do more. The important thing is that we won. I know this can improve my confidence, and my previous clubs’ experience will help me to adapt and contribute my best to this club and hope to win for the club and supporters, which my fellow Sierra Leoneans told me quite a good things about and the passion here.
What can you say about our yesterday’s rival?
The team against which we played yesterday, they are a very strong team. They tried to control the game at the beginning. When we scored the first goal, they tried to run forward, but we had more space to play between them and we scored two more goals.
How do you evaluate your readiness for the Championship?
This is my first game; I cannot be too excited about the goal scored yesterday. I need to focus on what lies ahead. I need to work more to improve my game and to help the team win. The season has just begun, more time and more games are waiting ahead.
